| Step 1 - Hoop 1 piece of Aqua
Magic Wash Away stabilizer and sew the first outline directly on the
stabilizer. |
Step 2 - Spray the wrong side of
fabric with adhesive spray and then place the fabric over
the outline just sewn. If using a thin cotton fabric, iron fusible
interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric to help maintain the apron's shape. |
 |
 |
| Step 3 - Sew the second outline
on the fabric to secure the fabric to the Aqua Magic. |
Step 4 - Remove hoop
(do not remove anything from the hoop!) Trim the excess fabric from around the
apron outline. Trim close to the stitches being careful not to cut
into the Aqua Magic or the outline stitches. |
 |
 |
| Step 5 - Place hoop back on
machine & finish sewing out the design. With the design still in the
hoop, turn the hoop over on the back side & trim the excess Aqua Magic
from the inside area of the design. Last, trim away the rest of the
Aqua Magic around the apron being careful not to cut into the satin stitch
outline. |
Step 6 - Use a straight edge and
a rotary cutter and trim along the top of the design (along the shoulder
seam). Trim right next to the stitches so that it is nice and
straight.
Set aside, do not wet to remove the Aqua Magic yet! |
 |
 |
| Step 7 - Now sew the back side of
the apron. After you have sewn all but the last color in the back design,
remove the hoop and spray the top edge of the front design on the wrong side
with temporary adhesive spray and stick it down in the hoop lining up the
neck & shoulder seams. |
Step 8 - Place hoop back on
machine and sew the last color. The last color will sew a wide satin
stitch along the shoulder seams that joins the two halves
together. |
 |
 |
| Step 9 - When finished, turn hoop
over (it's easier to trim with the hoop upside down!) and trim away the
excess Aqua Magic from the inside of the design as well as the edges being
careful not to cut into the finished satin stitching on the edges. |
Step 10 - Run a wet rag and
along the edges of the apron to dissolve the remaining Aqua
Magic. If you did not trim the Aqua Magic from the inside area of
the design, just soak the apron in lukewarm water to dissolve the Aqua
Magic. Press the apron between 2 towels to absorb the and then iron on the wrong side covered with
a pressing cloth
until dry. |
| Step 11 - Cut a small slit in the buttonholes
and thread 20-22 inches of matching ribbon through them to tie the apron
to the bottle. |
