Printing instructions: Click here

Materials needed:
1.  Water soluble marking pen
2.  Permanent marking pen
3.  1/4" foam board
4.  2" wide clear packing/mailing tape
5.  Battery operated clock works with a 3/8" long shaft
6.  Mat board (optional)
7.  Picture frame
8.  Straight pens

Instructions for designs (2 hoopings):

Cut your fabric to the size specified in the text file that came with your design.  With water soluble marker draw center  lines both horizontal and vertical. Draw lines above and below horizontal line as specified in your text file. This is for placement of your hoop for both designs.

1. Hoop material and center in hoop on top horizontal line and vertical line to sew out the top design.

2. Stitch top half of design. using Pellon Stitch N Tear as the design needs to be flexible to allow slight stretching when mounting the design for framing. Hoop the fabric & place the stabilizer under the hoop just before starting to sew.

Clip jump thread between colors.  After design is finished, trim all bobbin threads and remove the tear away stabilizer on the back.

Next, hoop again using the bottom horizontal line/vertical center line to line up your hoop to stitch out the bottom design. This will ensure that the two designs are spaced appropriately.

Stitch out second design, clip jump threads between color changes. When finished clip bobbin threads and the remove stabilizer.

Remove from hoop and mark the vertical center line at the very top & bottom edges of your fabric (no more than a 1/2" long).  Next, measure the total height of the design and mark the center horizontally on each side at the edges as well.

Next, spray with water to remove/dissolve the water soluble markings.  Iron on the back side until it is smooth and dry.
The design will tend to become wavy when water is applied but should straighten out when ironed. You may have to stretch it slightly as you iron to smooth out the waviness.  Keep ironing the material on the back side until smooth and flat.

Instructions for applying design to foam poster board:

Cut 1/4" foam poster board to the size specified in the text file that came with your design.  Foam board can be found at any local craft store. Mark the center lines vertically and horizontally only at the edges.  Do not mark all the way across the board as it will show when design is mounted.

Next, line up the center lines on the design with the center lines on the foam board & put a straight pen (at the 4 lines) in the core of the foam to center design on foam board.

Continue placing pins about 1" apart along the foam board edges. alternating from side to side and top to bottom. Pull material taut at you are pinning to smooth it out until design is flat and free of any waviness or puckers.  Next. fold over excess material and use 2" wide clear mailing tape to tape it down on the back of the foam board.
Next, take a small pair of scissors and cut out the hole where the clock works will be placed and then take a straight pen and perforate the foam board with holes very close together all around the opening you just made.

Turn over to back side and pierce the foam board all around the circle where you see the small pin perforations again. Then take a pointed object such as a seam ripper and push out the excess foam board creating a hole for the clock works.

The design should now be centered and suitable for matting.  Cut mat board the same size as the foam board and cut 1 1/2" mat border. Frame clock with frame of your choice. Insert battery operated clock works (3/8" shaft) according to package instructions. Clock works are available at any local craft store - or found at Wal-mart in the craft section.
