Supplies:
1 piece of Vilene or Aqua Magic washaway stabilizer to fit your hoop
1/4" wide ribbon 8" long. Cut slit in buttonhole, run ribbon through it and knot.
Eazy Felt - 1 piece 4" x 5" (use Peltex or Timtex if Eazy Felt is not available in your area)
Fabric - 3 pieces 4" x 5" (starch fabric until nice and crisp!)
Take 1 piece of fabric & turn down 1/2" on 4" side, top stitch on machine. Use for the pocket on the back.
Fabric - 1 piece 1 1/2" x 3" for border at the top of design.
Sulky Embroidery thread
1.  Hoop wash away stabilizer to fit your hoop.  The first outline is sewn on the stabilizer only (no fabric yet)
Note:  Use the same color thread in your bobbin as the final satin outline so the edge matches on both sides
2.  You will see little indented lines stitched on each side at the top. Remove hoop and flip hoop to back side and extend the lines onto the stabilizer about 1/2" out from the outline with a marker.
3. With hoop still on back side, place 1 piece of fabric over 1 piece of eazy felt and center both over the outline. Tape in place or use adhesive spray.  4.  Flip hoop right side up and place 1 piece of fabric centered over the outline. Put hoop back on machine.
5.  The 2nd color stop tacks the fabric/eazy felt down & stitches the cuff outline at the top. Outline stitches twice. 6. Place strip of fabric 1 1/2" x 3" over cuff outline at the top of the design.
7.  The next color stop stitches the cuff fabric down.  8.  Remove hoop and trim the fabric around the cuff. Place hoop back on machine.
9.  Stitch the rest of the design following the instructions in the text file provided with the designs. 10.  Remove hoop and flip over to back side.  Trim the fabric/eazy felt from around the design on the back only.
11.  With hoop still on back side, place the pocket fabric (prepared earlier) centered over the outline keeping the top stitched edge even with the pen marks on each side. Tape in place, place hoop on machine.
Note:  Got ahead of myself, this picture doesn't show the stocking trimmed on the edges but it should be!
12.  The next color tacks the back pocket down and also stitches narrow zigzag underlay stitching around design.
13.  Remove hoop and trim the fabric from around the design on BOTH sides of the hoop close to the stitches.  Place hoop back on machine.  14.  The last color in the design stitches the final satin stitches around the edge of the design.
15.  With design still in the hoop, cut a small slit in the buttonhole at the top.  (Add the ribbon for hanging later) 16.  Flip hoop over, trim the design from the stabilizer keeping at least 1/6" from the edge to avoid cutting into the satin stitches on the edge. Run a warm wet rag along the edge to dissolve the remaining stabilizer. Let dry.

Insert your 1/4" wide x 8" ribbon through the buttonhole at the top and knot.
It is now ready to hang from your Christmas tree!
